Syncope

2022-02-27
I remember an interview where chess player Miguel Najdorf said that the computer will eventually defeat the world champion of chess. He said that "the computer has no personal problems," and that "it doesn't get nervous." It is obviously possible to get nervous during a game, but some doctors even refuse to believe that it is also possible to get nervous during the worst day of one's life. On 2022-02-15, at around 5:30 PM (UTC-05:00), I was alone in my apartment, and I fainted for the first time in my life. (I've been living alone since 2021-07-26.) Before I fainted, I was feeling great. Seconds before I fainted, I felt like my blood pressure was dropping quickly and unexpectedly. When I regained consciousness on the floor, I had nausea and a bloody nose. I was completely overwhelmed by the whole situation. I contacted my mother to let her know what had happened, and she took me to an emergency room. I had a fast heart rate, because I was justifiably nervous. Nevertheless, the male doctor (1967-10-03) diagnosed me with anxiety disorder and tachycardia.

I think that the doctor exuded impetuosity. Am I not allowed to get nervous during the worst day of my life? I guess that the doctor believes that he knows more about my own body than I do. Needless to say, I disagree with those two diagnoses. Here's my last blood-pressure reading of that day:

I'm pretty sure that my blood pressure and my heart rate are usually normal. I exercise almost every single day, and most of the foods that I eat are healthy. The last time that my HDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and LDL cholesterol were checked, they were normal:

The doctor also diagnosed me with hypokalemia, and I actually agree with that diagnosis. The problem is that I had been drinking a lot of coffee and green tea every day, and the excessive consumption of caffeine can cause hypokalemia.

I never had a problem with my potassium before. Here's the previous result of my potassium level:

Recently, I have significantly reduced the amount of coffee and green tea that I drink. I also drink yerba mate from time to time, but I never drink a lot of it. I feel healthy, and I'm not overly concerned about my potassium level. Many of the foods that I've consumed regularly for many years contain potassium.

On 2022-02-25, I received and paid the bill of the CT scan. If I would have gotten the CT scan at a public hospital in my home country of Argentina, it would have been completely free.

On 2022-02-26, I received and paid the bill of the emergency room visit. I would like to know what that bill included. For example, did that bill include the antiemetic medication that I received? I understand that I tend to have an inquisitive attitude, but, when it comes to medical bills, transparency should always be expected.

Although this message of mine can certainly be seen as a form of catharsis, what I really want people to realize is that the life of a human in this dimension can end at any moment. I feel grateful for my life, and I feel grateful for all of the interactions that I've had with females of Scorpio. In the days when I take a preprandial walk, I tend to wear two rings that have "October 29" engraved on them. Those rings help me to feel confident, primarily because Scorpio completes me perfectly. I love Scorpio forever and always.

I've had my gold ring for over two years, and I've had my silver ring for over four years. They have "October 29" engraved on them, and here's a recent picture:

Here are my toxicological results from 2022-02-15:

On 2022-02-15, at the emergency room, my nurse was a lovely female (1977-05-02) of Taurus who took excellent care of me. On that day, I told her: "I hate this place, but I like you." Although it was the worst day of my life, I quickly realized that I was in good hands. I'm very grateful to have had such a caring, competent person as my nurse.

On 2022-02-27, I said: "on 2022-02-26, I paid the bill of the emergency room visit." However, on 2022-03-07, when I received the real bill of the emergency room visit, I realized that I had made a mistake. Before I talk about that bill, I would like to say a couple of things about the bill that I received on 2022-02-26. According to the NPPES NPI Registry, the "Primary Practice Address" of the company that sent me that bill is the same address of the emergency room that I visited on 2022-02-15.

Additionally, the description of the main charge of that bill is "EMERGENCY DEPT VISIT."

Consequently, I sincerely believed that that was the bill of the emergency room visit. However, on 2022-03-07, I received a bill for 14,114.72 USD.

It seems very excessive, especially considering that I was at the emergency room for less than four hours. I was admitted at 18:48 hours, and I was discharged at 22:20 hours.

On 2022-03-15, I was able to get "the uninsured discount," which significantly lowered that bill, and I was also able to get a payment plan set up.

On 2022-08-17, I received and paid the bill of the urinalysis and the blood test.

On 2024-04-01, after I paid 3,810.97 USD for the real bill of the emergency room visit, I received a letter saying that "there is a zero balance."

 First bill:  458.00 USD
 Second bill:  250.60 USD
 Third bill:  3,810.97 USD
 Fourth bill:  210.00 USD
 Total:  4,729.57 USD

I paid a total of 4,729.57 USD, and I'm currently debt-free.
